Grading Letter [English]
April 20, 2020
Dear Parent/Guardian of Secondary Student in Mt. Diablo Unified,
The Mt. Diablo’s Board of Trustees has unanimously approved temporary changes in grading practices to set reasonable expectations and to hold secondary students harmless during our transition to distance learning in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. During this unprecedented time, and following guidance from the California Department of Education, Mt. Diablo Unified will implement a temporary grading policy for secondary students utilizing Credit/ No Credit for 4th quarter progress report and spring semester 2020 transcripts.
It is important to note that 3rd quarter grades will be one of the indicators considered when issuing Credit for the spring semester 2020. Therefore, any student receiving a D or an F, as of the end of 3rd quarter March 13, 2020, may be in danger of receiving a No Credit mark for the spring semester.
Students who have a desire to improve their 3rd quarter grades should work directly with their teacher on submitting late and/or makeup work. Student assignments can be submitted through April 30, 2020, for credit. It is recommended that students check Homelink regularly and access teachers' virtual office hours as a way to monitor progress. You can find information about how to access Homelink at Homelink- Parent Portal. Please contact your child’s teacher and/or site administrator with any questions.
Thank you for your ongoing support, patience, and collaboration.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Sachs

Grading Letter [Español]
20 de Abril de 2020
Estimado Padre/Guardián del Estudiante de Secundaria del Distrito Escolar Unificado Mt. Diablo,
Atentamente,
Jennifer Sachs
