FAQ
When will I find out about the school Bus?
Bus routes, stops, and pickup/drop off times are communicated to parents via email the week before school starts. Please call the school office if you do not receive this info or have questions.
Where do I pick up my child?
You have two options to pick up your child. You may park and walk to the undercover play area to meet your child, or join the car line along the curb and your child will walk to your car. Note that car traffic is north to south ONLY during drop off and pickup times.
What if I need to change my child's go-home plans?
If you need to change your child's transportation plans on a given day, please call or email the school office (RDGWD-Communications@beaverton.k12.or.us) no later than 2pm. A "Change of Afterschool Plans" orange note will be prepared and delivered to classrooms before dismissal, notifying your child and their teacher of the change.
How do I contact my child's teacher?
You may email or ParentSquare your child's teacher with any questions or concerns. Please understand that teachers often don't have time to check email until after school is dismissed for the day. If you have an urgent issue please contact the school office.
How do I contact the school office?
Call us at 503-356-2442 ext 0, or email at RDGWD-Communications@beaverton.k12.or.us.
You may set up a lunch account at SchoolCafe.com, or drop a payment (cash or check) in the office lockbox.
What if my child is sick?
Please call the attendance line at 503-356-2440 ext 1 to report your child's absence from school. When should a sick child stay home? Read the "Too Sick For School" policy here.
What if my child needs medication during the school day?
A parent/guardian should bring the medication to the office and sign a Medication Authorization form. Medications must be in the original prescription container or original OTC package. We cannot accept medication that has expired or is not in the original container/packaging. Students are not allowed to carry or administer medication themselves. The school is not able to provide any OTC medications (Tylenol, Neosporin, etc.) for students; this must be provided by a parent/guardian.
What if my child has an accident?
Accidents (and mud puddles) happen! We strongly encourage including a change of clothes, including underwear, in your child's backpack. We have a very small supply of emergency clothing, but your child will be most comfortable in their own clothing.
