Where Perseverance Comes Into Play
We're Going Down (Adversity)
Starting in 1907 there was an idea. An idea that would change the future of luxury. This was that idea that the Titanic was a sample of, a monstrosity that would take new docks, twenty-two tons of slick to move into the water. But starting with a smaller ship almost hitting this monster was a bad omen. Many died due to the board of directors saying that the correct amount of life boats would clutter the deck and ruin the luxuries feel. More reasons came from the ignoring of consistent ice warnings. Many families persevered as they tried to reach the deck with class gate blocking them from a future in the world.
If Slaves do it so can others (Perseverance)
People persevere through adversity with the help of others and the doubts of others and themselves. "Araminta Ross was born a slave...she escaped and traveled north to freedom...once there, she changed her name to Harriet Tubman...on the Underground Railroad she risked her life helping countless slaves escape to freedom." (Nathan Hale summary)
Win this War (Triumph)
"quite alone, desperately alone, and we had been so for five or six months. We were poorly armed. We are not so poorly armed today; but then we were very poorly armed. We had the unmeasured menace of the enemy and their air attack still beating on us... even if it takes months - if it takes years - they do it." (Winston Churchill)
Thirty-Three men trapped under over have half a mile of rock. They were trapped for 69 days. They only survived by trust and perseverance.
