From Mrs. Lay...
Students are hard at work as we head into October! Teachers and students are preparing for 9 week assessments to begin this week. This year Lubbock ISD will implement district assessments once every nine-week period. District assessments are used as summative
assessments to consistently assess the students’ knowledge of content periodically throughout the school year. I am confident that are students will excel on these assessments. Thank you for your support in your child's education!
There are many upcoming events, find them all on our parent google calendar here. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at 219-7300.

Student Holiday- Oct. 21
Monday, October 21st is a teacher professional development day and student holiday.
PTA Blood Drive is scheduled for Friday, October 11th from 2:00-5:00
Two years ago I was recovering from a stay in the hospital after some nasty chemo had kicked my tail! I needed several units of blood during that hospital stay and in the weeks that followed to help me get through the rest of my treatments. Every single day I am beyond thankful to wake up alive and healthy! October is a special time for me personally to share my cancer story, and to encourage others that may be in the middle of their own battle.
This year our amazing Whiteside PTA is organizing a blood drive at our campus on Friday, October 11th from 2:00-5:00. Blood donations literally saved my life during my darkest of days. I'm grateful for the opportunity to give back.
Information is coming home in Monday folders if you would like to participate!
Thank you in advance!~ Mrs. Lay

Attendance Line 741-8562 (answered 24 hours a day)
Please call the attendance line if your child will not be attending school or will be late in arriving due to an appointment. The teacher’s take attendance first thing in the morning and the office then begins calling to check on any students that we have had no contact from. This is another reason it is so important for your child to be in the classroom before the 7:45 tardy bell.
Box Tops are now DIGITAL!
Nurse Cara needs shorts!
Nurse Cara is in need of elastic waist shorts in her clinic. She will happily take any outgrown shorts off of your hands!
