- Tuesday, November 15, 2022 - 4th/5th grade AWAY basketball games AT Samuel Everett (Everett Gym), 6:00, 7:00pm.
- Tuesday, November 15, 2022 - 6th/7th grade HOME basketball games vs Clinton - 5:00pm. CGIS Cheerleaders will perform their competition routine at half time of the girls game!
- Tuesday, November 15, 2022 - SOAR Squad Performance at half time of the boys game against Clinton.
- Wednesday, November 16, 2022 - 6th/7th grade AWAY basketball games AT Union Grove 5:00, 6:00pm.
- Thursday, November 17, 2022 - 4th/5th grade HOME basketball games vs Alcoa. 5:00pm. The CGIS Unicycle Club will perform at halftime of the boys game.
- Friday, November 18, 2022 - 6th/7th grade AWAY basketball games AT Horace Maynard
- Monday, November 21, 2022 - TOYS for Blount Basketball game - all CGIS teams play at home vs MRIS. First game starts at 4:00pm. The CGIS Unicycle Club will perform at half time of the 6th/7th grade boys game!
- Tuesday, November 22, 2022 - 4th/5th grade AWAY basketball games AT Carpenters Elementary.
- Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, 2022 - Goggled Gobbler 5K Race- begins and ends at CGIS

For the safety of your child, please remember that our school building does not open until 7:00am. Staff members are not out front until that time. Also, as colder weather approaches, if students arrive before that time, please make sure that students have coats and are dressed warmly!
NATIONAL EDUCATORS' WEEK
Next week is National Educators' Week! Help us shower our teachers and staff with appreciation next week! Please send in prepackaged snacks and K-Cups (coffee, hot chocolate, tea, etc.) to re-stock our teacher work rooms. There will be two large red containers on the stage in Town Square for students to place donations during morning drop off.

SOAR SQUAD UPDATE:
The CGIS SOAR Squad was set to perform with our CGIS cheerleaders at tonight's game. Since this game has been cancelled, the SOAR Squad will now perform at the CGIS home game on November 15, 2022 vs Clinton at half time of the 6th/7th grade boys game. Girls game is at 5:00pm and the boys game immediately to follow at 6:00pm.
10th ANNUAL TOYS FOR BLOUNT CLASSIC
We are Maryville and we are excited to partner with MRIS for our 10th Annual Toys for Blount Classic basketball game on Monday, November 21st! Check out the flyer below for game times, information on admission, and the details how how CGIS students can help their house win the spirit stick competition. We begin collecting toy donations next week! Lets make this the best toy drive yet!
CGIS NEST EGG BANK IS RE-OPENING!
The CGIS/CBBC Nest Egg Bank will re-open January 10, 2023. This is a great way for your student to learn how to save and manage money! We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity! Open the attachment to see all the details!
CHILHOWEE CLUB POETRY CONTEST
CGIS Students, it is time to let your poetry skills shine! Ask your Reading Language Arts teacher for more information and a poetry contest application if you would like to enter!
CGIS After School Intramurals
Please see the updated CGIS Intramural information. Students participating in intramurals should be picked up at 3:45pm. Our Adventure Club is at full capacity and can no longer take students who are not already enrolled.
THANKSGIVING DAY 5K
Helping Children Learn
The Parent Institute offers monthly tips to help parents help their children learn. Some of this month's topics for elementary students include: multi-tasking, decision making, and why honesty matters. Topics for middle school students include: exercising good judgement, sharpening writing skills, and teaching social media safety. Click on the links below to read the full newsletters.
