France is one of the founder countrys of the eu. It joined the Eu in 1957. France was part of the Roman Empire but no longer is. It's located in Western Europe. France borders the Bay of Biscay and English Channel, between Belgium and Spain, southeast of the UK; bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Italy and Spain. France is the second largest county in Europe with a population of around 64 million people
