Today report cards will be sent home. Report cards are a communication tool that scholars can use to create learning goals. It should never be used as a negative experience for your scholar. We hope that you will take time to view the video linked above before reading your scholar's report card. Remember to praise your scholars efforts not just the grades. Our scholars SOAR!

PTA NEWS
Hi Hawks! Thank you for a great Restaurant Night! We raised almost 300.00! What a great start of the year ! It was awesome to see families meeting outside of school to enjoy a meal together!
PTA is very happy to announce a Green Chair for our school. Juli Wu will be helping to continue the compost efforts with our volunteers. Thank you all for the continued support.
The Board is very excited that Juli Wu will also be our PTA webmaster. The website is being updated to include more information.
Thank you Juli!
We are also searching for a Fun Run Chair for next school year! Because the Fun Run is our only major fundraiser for the PTA, it is imperative for the Board to start planning now. Please consider volunteering for a great event, that directly benefits the students.

Frederick Elks Lodge #684 is sponsoring a poster contest for grades 3-5 as part of their Drug Awareness Program. The deadline for submitting entries is February 1, 2023. Please see the following fliers for more information:
The mailbox for any attendance related notifications please send notes to the UES attendance mailbox | The mailbox address for questions and transportation is urbana.es@fcps.org All transportations changes for the day must be completed by 1:30. This gives the school staff time to prepare the teacher, the scholar, and staff of the change before dismissal begins. | To register and complete training as FCPS volunteers, please go to the FCPS Volunteer Center: https://fcps-volunteers.ezcommunicator.net/edu/fcps-volunteers/login_form.aspx?app=0 The training only needs to be completed once for this school year. Please complete the training at least 5 days before the event so that you may be cleared. If the training is not completed you will not be able to volunteer or be permitted beyond the front office for the safety of our scholars.
