The Monkey's Paw

Owens Block 1 Short Stories

Main Idea

Remember, you can't change your fate. A family of 3 located in the middle of nowhere, is paid a visit. A soldier introduces them to a small monkey's paw and warns them. Of course, the family doesn't understand at first until their first wish for 200 pounds. Every wish comes with a price.

The real reason the soldier gave them the monkey's paw, is because it came with bad fortune after your wish has come true. It brings sadness and fear to someone or something. However, as the soldier tried to give it to the White family, he tried to warn them also. The White family didn't understand or believe at first until their first wish.

The monkey's paw represents guilt, greed, and desire.
