Finding Hope Ahead
Look all around there's nothing but blue skies!!! No? Not yet??? Okay, well we're getting there. Hit play on the latest quarantine anthem song above and start to believe that it's going to be okay. We are down to the last few weeks of school, businesses are opening again, summer is on the horizon and while things may not be "normal" for quite some time, I do believe we will find some reprieve in simply letting this school year trickle to an end. With that said, finish STRONG! We are all tired; you are not alone. This crisis has brought on tremendous challenges and we are WEARY. But find hope in knowing you have overcome many obstacles already, you are stronger than you think, you have likely gained some new skill sets you didn't even ask for and in just a few weeks (17 school days not counting today, but who's counting? Me? No, not me!) we can put this school year behind us and rest easy in the breeze of summer days.
So let's refocus once again and ask yourself some important questions:
- What are you doing for self-care?
- What are you doing for others? How can you help your parents, siblings, grandparents, friends?
- What are you thankful for?
- What CAN you do during this time that you enjoy?
Pick one or two of those questions to reflect on, write them on a sticky note and put it in your mirror, right next to the one that says 17 DAYS!!! We all need reminders to refocus and redirect our thoughts and attention to what matters most. Don't get stuck in the mud and mucky mire of negativity. You can do this!
I want you to know you are loved, you are deeply cared for and sincerely missed during this time. Your counselors love you and we are here to support you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if there is absolutely anything we can do to support you or your family during this time.
Sending you lots of love & hugs,
Mrs. E

California State University (CSU) Fall 2020 Updates
COVID-19 CSU Admission Resources
The CSU has temporarily suspended or made changes to admission policies due to COVID-19. The most current guidance can be found on the Cal State Apply website. A Frequently Asked Question page has also been created and is updated as questions arise. You may want to review the FAQ page periodically.
Changes in Family Financial Circumstances
The CSU realizes that many families are experiencing financial difficulties due to the pandemic. The CSU has a robust Paying for College site that provides information on financial aid. Students and families that have experienced a significant change in their financial situation may contact their campus financial aid office with questions related to additional financial assistance. The campus financial aid office will assist families in determining if changes to their income could result in additional financial aid for the 2020-2021 school year. CSU campuses are diligently working to assist students during this difficult time. Links to each financial aid office website can be found on the Cal State Apply Financial Aid site.
National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Eligibility
The CSU has received inquiries regarding athletics and eligibility for the upcoming fall term. The NCAA has issued COVID-19 guidance and published information on the initial-eligibility certification process. CSU Athletic departments will continue to monitor guidance from the NCAA and work with incoming athletes.
