Author Visit
Many of our students asked thoughtful questions about the writing process during the Q & A, such as what was her inspiration for the name of the title and how do you write so many pages? Lund explained the name of the title came from a line in her book. She and her editors suggested options and she chose this line as her favorite, even though her original option wasn't chosen. Lund further explained that even when she had writer's block, she set daily writing deadlines to force herself to write something down, mostly good writing, but sometimes the writing would all be thrown out. Students learned that although writing is a very personal moment, sometimes we must be open to constructive criticism and many revisions to help improve our writing skills.
We are very grateful for the presentation Lund provided our students. Just Keep Livin' sponsored and paid for 30 books and had them signed by the author. These books will be given to our Just Keep Livin' students as rewards for their amazing community service with the Houston Food Bank. Many thanks to Brazos Book Store and Joy Preble for bringing Ms. Lund to Houston.

Spring Voter Registration Drive
The U.S. Government and Economics classes will have volunteers from Mi Familia Vota registering eligible students on January 21st and 22nd. We also have many trained Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrars (VDVR's) on campus, including myself, to either update your new address or register you to vote for the first time. Please stop by the library for more information.
