If you want the money, remember, it does take work. Scholarships and the requirements will vary from application to application. It will take some research on your part to understand which applications require.
Consider this...ask a parent to help out, create a specific time and day of the week when you will investigate and gather documentation. Get a group of your friends together, carve out time to create a weekly or bi-weekly scholarship search work group.
Where do you start? Below you will find a ton of resources and I share them all. Good luck and get that moneeeyyyy!!!!

ALL COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES & TECH SCHOOLS HAVE SCHOOL SPECIFIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS. TO CHECK THOSE OUT, VISIT EACH COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY WEBSITE UNDER THE FINANCIAL AID TAB
What About These Resources
- The individual college financial aid websites- In addition to priority application merit based offers, colleges may have other sources of financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants or endowments.
- PTSA- Our school's PTA program offers scholarships to students who are members. The fee to join is only $5 and is a great investment if they receive a scholarship!
- Parent employers- Some employers offerer scholarships for students. Ask around, what is the worst answer you could get?
- Insurance companies-This is surprising, but in fact, many insurance companies (health, car or home) have opportunities for families!
- Banking institutions- If students are members of Grow Financial, Suncoast Credit Union or Wells Fargo, there may be scholarship opportunities out there. Search the website or ask the next time you are there to make a deposit!
- Pinterest- I know...this one is interesting! Take the time to look through the resources on this website. Leave no stone left unturned! It may be a hunt, but it could literally pay off in the end!
- What makes you different from others?- Remember, make a list of your personal characteristics with regards to: health, ethnicity, religion, trauma, disability, child of first responder, athletics, arts. These things make you, YOU! Google search "scholarships for __" You never know what you could discover!
Wait, I'm Not Done Yet!
You will thank me later:) BE AWARE, if any site asks for you to pay for a service, immediately, find another site. You should NOT pay anyone to find FREE resources!
