WAVA is pleased that Susan Boyer who has previously been our Principal of WAVA Elementary School has accepted the role as our new Director of Academics. Video Message from Elementary School Principal Susan Boyer

This year WAVA Elementary has been focused on intentional, meaningful instruction for all students. We want our students to be prepared and ready to move onto the next grade level when they end their year with us. Your teachers are planning lessons around essential standards for your grade level. If you have been at WAVA prior, you might be wondering why we are inviting students to more classes with our teachers. We strongly believe that more time with your teacher is key to student success. If your student is struggling in Math or ELA their homeroom teacher wants to support them and make sure that they get all the help they need to be successful in school and beyond.

The word of the month for November is gratitude. It is always good to have a routine practice of expressing gratitude. This has been a hard year for all of us for many reasons and being grateful may not come as easily has it has in the past, that is ok. Sometimes there are big things to be grateful for, and sometimes all you can find are little things. We hope you know how grateful we are to be a part of the WAVA community and that serving you each day is a true honor.

We hope that you have a wonderful month and if you have any needs please do not hesitate to reach out.

Susan Boyer—WAVA ES Principal

Jodi Schilling—WAVA ES Assistant Principal

Chris Miller—WAVA ES Assistant Principal

Video Message from Middle School Principal Del Heistand

Hello WAVA Middle School Students!

I hope that you enjoyed the Costume Day we had last week and that you are taking time to celebrate with school and have some fun! I appreciated hearing about the great time all of you have been having.

This week coming back to November, we are focusing on Gratitude. Gratitude is a quality of being thankful and showing a return of appreciation and kindness. Next week, next month we can all work on showing appreciation to others and ourselves, our peers, our teachers and our community. Let's focus on Gratitude and how this month we can show thanks with our Middle School Pride.

We have had an awesome attendance rate for Middle School. Let's keep it up this month. Keep going to class, staying engaged and getting our work and assignments done. I look forward to seeing you all throughout the month, lets do this and have a great November!

-Sincerely

Principal Del Heistand

Video Message from High School Assistant Principal Terry Ackerman

Hello WAVA High School, this is Assistant Principal Ackerman with some WAVA updates for the month of November. This month is all about preparing you for Graduation. We are providing students with a plan to move forward and be prepared for graduation details and expectations. We hosted a Graduation Information Night to review the Washington State Requirement that are needed in order to move forward. We want to ensure that all students are informed and prepared.

Take time to get engaged in the community. Take time to visit Chill N Chat, engage in all of you classes and all of the ways that WAVA has to connect with you. We estimate that you will have about 30 hours a week of course work and material or work that is posted each week. Make sure that you take time to get all of your work completed.

At WAVA our word of the month is Gratitude and it is with Gratitude that I am writing this to thank you! Thank you for being a part of WAVA. Take time to enjoy all of our resources here at WAVA and have a wonderful month!

-Sincerely,

Assistant Principal Ackerman
