PEIMS CLERK REMINDERS
We love our hard-working PEIMS clerks! They help us out SO much. In an effort to help these ladies maximize their time, please review the guidance document.
A special note regarding evaluation folders. Please do not turn in papers separately. All evaluation folders should be combined by all evaluators for the diagnostician to turn in as one folder unless only evaluating for speech.
See Video to assist with Fatal PEIMS errors
Student Support Specialists will be sending emails regarding any fatal errors. This video will help troubleshoot. All are welcome to call or email their student support specialist or Audra Arnold for support.

Allowable Accommodations
We have updated the TIA website with information on testing procedures for TIA assessments. This information is critical to understand in regards to testing procedures for all students. There were questions during the district PD day regarding Star Ren and other assessments and allowable accommodations. Please review the documents for this guidance.
Visit the TIA website to review testing procedures for Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) assessments. Access testing procedures here. Access the full website here.
Currently allowable accommodations on STAR Ren for students who require them are: extra time and oral administration on Math. Please see testing procedures for details.
GameChanger Challenges for the Week
Opportunity to win team points this week:
- For this work week we will continue last weeks challenge... any team that tweets a team picture or campus or Special Services celebration and Tags @TStudentsupport with The hashtags (replacing your actual team name for "yourteamname"): #TISDGameChangers and #yourteamname will gain 2 points for your team. Each team can only gain a total of 4 points (2 tweets) per week no matter how many extra tweets per team are posted. If your team members don't have twitter, you can send me a text with the picture(s) and message and I will post.
- We will give one more week for the nurses to email me that they have been invited to all ARDs for the semester by you and #yourteamname for 1 point per team (up to 2 total per team if SLP and Diag both complete this task).
Check out our team points counter below. I will post in celebrations how points were earned. If you feel your team is missing points, you must let me know by the end of the week for it to be corrected. If your team name is incorrect, please let me know. All teams were given 1 point for the Cross Talk Activity in August.
Cyclical Review
4 factors to consider in deciding whether to evaluate student who misbehaves
If a school district has reason to suspect a student has a disability and needs special education and related services, it must evaluate the student under the IDEA 34 CFR 300.111. Review this chart for four factors that may help districts decide whether a student's behavior triggers the obligation to evaluate.
