As a reminder: If your student is not feeling well, please keep them home until they are feeling better. If your student has an increased temperature, cough, has diarrhea or has vomited in the past 24 hours, please keep them home. Your student must be symptom free for 24 hours without the use of OTC (Over The Counter) medications before they can return to campus. If your child’s cough or nasal symptoms becomes a classroom disruption they will be sent home. Parents/Guardians can always call the Health Office with questions or concerns.

Basketball tryouts will be held on Tuesday, November 15th- Thursday, November 17th.

Are your students interested in learning how to cook and complete household tasks? What about personal budgeting and money skills? Did you want to have experience running a small business for future careers? Or do you just want to learn how to play a variety of games?

Then the Adulting 101 class is for you! The class is held Tuesday through Friday in E1 from 8am-8:50am with Mrs. Bartolome and Mrs. Viramontes starting on Tuesday, November 8th! They hope to see you there.

This week we had a guest speaker who works with Stem Cell Research through CIRM-California Institute for Regenerative Medicine!

This week, we are excited to partner with a group from CIRM (California Institute for Regenerative Medicine). One of the CIRM Interns working with CSUSM will be partnered with our STEM Ambassador to help bring this week’s stem cell focused activity to the middle schoolers. CIRM Interns spend their days working full time in one of San Diego’s stem cell labs and part of their program experience is performing outreach into the K-12 schools. This will be their 2nd year partnering with us.

The RMS MANA Hermanitas Program has a Clothing Drive to support @RatasRags, a local organization that donates clothing items to local homeless shelters and youth programs. What to donate? We have seen an increase in students violating our RMS Dress Code. Please spend some time reviewing our dress code with your student. If a student is found to be in violation of the dress code, students will be asked to change clothing. The inappropriate clothing item will be exchanged for school clothing or personal clothing brought in by parent/guardian

Students received their school IDs and lanyards. Students are required to wear their IDs at all times while they are on campus. ID cards are required for entry into dances.

Parents and visitors, we have just received new equipment to register anyone coming into Roosevelt. You must have a valid ID in order to enter the campus.

We are excited to offer Math Playground, a morning enrichment opportunity happening each week on Wednesday & Thursday mornings from 7:30 - 8:30 AM in Room H-8. See Ms. Erin Klopfer, Math Support Teacher!

Looking for a place to drop your students off early? Help your student sign up for W.W.C. (Wildcat Weightlifting Club) so that they can get those healthy endorphins flowing with a workout before school starts! We will meet Tuesday- Friday from 7:50-8:30. Students should meet Mrs. Wiley and Mrs. Castellanos just inside the ASES gate at 7:50. The sign-up link can be found below and on your student’s Canvas PE page. Please take a moment to complete an Alternative Income Verification form, following the instructions provided in the Superintendent's Notification of Alternative Income Verification memo. This provides critical information to provide our student meals and other support programs across the district.

The library has issued each student a home set of textbooks, a Chromebook, and a charger. If your student is missing any of these items, please have them visit the library. Students can spend time in the library before, during lunch, or after school. Classroom visits throughout the school day are at the discretion of each teacher.

Parents, are you or anyone you know looking for part-time work for 6 hours per day WITH BENEFITS while your children are at school? RMS is looking to hire Instructional Assistants to help out in all of our classrooms. Instructional Assistants work Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm on school days only. Please call the front office at (760) 726-8003 if you are interested or if you have any questions!

Remember, absences must be cleared within 72 hours (3 school days) after the student returns to school.

If your student was accidentally marked absent or if you are planning a trip in which your student will miss three or more school days, please notify the attendance two weeks in advance to set up an independent study contract.
