Salmon in the Classroom
Second grade welcomed their salmon eggs on Jan. 5. These 100 eggs were laid on Nov. 30 in the salmon hatchery on the Yakima River here in Prosser. This week most of the salmon eggs should begin hatching and become alevin.
Salmon Eggs These are Chinook Salmon eggs. They hatch at 12 weeks. Most of our eggs are in the process of hatching. | Ms. Bonney's Scientist | Alevin This is one of the eggs that has hatched into an alevin. It is growing its body but will still have the egg attached for food. |
