Welcome to the 2022 new year! KRV is looking forward to the great things this new year is going to bring to all of us. Please continue to read below to see the exciting things happening at KRV so far.

December Student of the Month

Valentine's Day Party

On February 14th, our classroom teachers will be celebrating Valentine's Day. Teachers will be sending out information about their specific parties. Please be on the lookout for that information coming in an upcoming Wednesday folder. Due to social distancing and safety precautions, we are not allowing food items during the parties. Thank you for your understanding.

Salmon in the Classroom

Second grade welcomed their salmon eggs on Jan. 5. These 100 eggs were laid on Nov. 30 in the salmon hatchery on the Yakima River here in Prosser. This week most of the salmon eggs should begin hatching and become alevin.

Cold Weather

Please send your students to school with a warm coat, gloves, and hat. If your child needs any of these items, feel free to contact our school counselor and she can help.

Birthday Celebrations

While we understand the enjoyment of celebrating your student's birthday at school, with COVID we are not allowing food treats. Our teachers will do their best to make your student's day is a little special in the classroom but please do not send treats. Thank you for understanding and helping to keep our students safe.

Upcoming Dates:

January 25th- Kids Heart Challenge Kick Off

February 14th- Valentine's Day Parties

February 21st- No School, Presidents Day

COVID Information

  • Masks- All students and staff will be required to wear masks. Mask breaks will be provided.
  • Social Distancing- Students will be 3 feet apart during the day and 6 feet during lunch.
  • Sanitation- Hand Sanitizer and/or hand washing will be made available regularly for student use. Classrooms and other public areas will be cleaned and sanitized throughout the day.


If your child is ill, please keep them home. If your child is absent for an extended period of time, our teachers will provide them with school work and consistent communication to help keep them engaged and reduce the loss of learning time. Please keep in contact with our office to make arrangements and to excuse your students absences. In addition, below is the link to the new guidelines regarding quarantining.
