April Cafecitos
Tuesday, April 11th, at 5 pm, Barling Elementary will host our April Cafecitos. This month we will be talking about the summer and community activities for students and families. *Cafecito is a program that supports Latino parents and families in their process of assimilation into the new culture.*
Spring Testing
Spring has arrived and so has our April summative testing season. April is full of end-of-year mandated assessments that provide an opportunity for your child(ren) to show how much they have learned over the school year. In preparation, all grade levels will keep Chromebooks at school after March 31.
You can help your child(ren) with the following test-taking strategies:
· Plenty of sleep/rest the whole week of assessments
· Breakfast each day: If students eat at school, get them here early so that they have time to eat properly without rushing.
· Arrive on time: Assessments begin promptly at 8:30.
· Encourage them to do their best: Take the tests seriously, but no freaking out!
The following schedule includes the assessment dates by test and grade level:

PTA News
As we close in on the last couple of months of this school year, we have several fun and exciting things planned. Such as April 6th will be Chuck E Cheese Fundraising Night for our school. May 4th will be our Spring Fling Carnival and Field day coming at the end of the month of May, to name a few.
Any and all participation is welcome and encouraged, so let a board member know if you’re interested in lending a hand.
As always, thank you for your support.
Your PTA President, Summer Kerr!
