Keeping up with COVID-19
If your student is sick, please keep them home. If your student has symptoms please have them tested or contact us for a test.
COVID-19 Vaccine Resources
All Minnesota residents ages 5 and older are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine The CDC recommends that everyone who can get vaccinated should do so at the first opportunity available to them.
There is no cost for the vaccine. You do not need to provide a government-issued ID or medical insurance to be vaccinated, and no question on immigration status is ever asked.
If you have questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, or other vaccines your child may need, talk to your child’s health provider.
Vaccine Clinics:
County, state and community partners are hosting COVID-19 vaccine clinics at SPPS schools for kids ages 5 and older and those ages 12 and older who qualify for booster shots (must be 6 months after your second COVID-19 vaccine). Students who are fully vaccinated do NOT need to quarantine if they are identified as a close contact and do not have any symptoms.
- Every Friday: Gordon Parks High School (1212 W. University Ave.) from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Vaccines are available for students ages 12 and older. Booster shots are available.
- 2/2: Mississippi Creative Arts (1575 L' Orient St.) from 5-7:30 p.m. No appointment is needed.
- 2/3: SPPS Administration Building (360 Colborne St.) from 3-6 p.m. Register here.
- 2/10: SPPS Administration Building (360 Colborne St.) from 3-6 p.m. Register here.
St Paul-Ramsey County Public Health also has vaccine clinics at the following locations:

- Consulate of Mexico (797 E. Seventh St.)
- Oxford Community Center (270 Lexington Pkwy. N.)
- New Brighton Community Center (400 10th St. N.W., New Brighton)
Appointments are required. Register at ramseycounty.us/COVIDvaccine. Booster shots are available at these clinics for those who are eligible.
What to Expect:
- Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when receiving a vaccine.
- There is no cost for the vaccine.
- You do not need to provide a government-issued ID or medical insurance to be vaccinated, and no question on immigration status is ever asked.
Other Vaccine Resources:
There are a number of ways that parents can get their children vaccinated. Some locations require appointments, but many places are now accepting walk-ins.
5-17 year olds: At this time, the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is the only vaccine authorized for use by people age 5-17. Children age 5-15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when receiving a vaccine. 16 and 17 year olds must receive permission from a parent or guardian, either in person or online when scheduling an appointment.
18+: Adults 18 and over have three vaccine options. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, which require two doses administered 3-4 weeks apart, and the Johnson & Johnson, which is one dose. Parents who are not vaccinated yet are highly encouraged to get vaccinated at the same time as their children.
To find a vaccine:
- Contact your child’s primary health care provider, local public health or a local pharmacy.
- Check the Ramsey County COVID-19 Vaccine website for community and mobile clinics in and near St. Paul.
- Walk in or schedule an appointment through Minnesota’s Community Vaccination Programs at Mall of America (Bloomington) or MSP Terminal 2. You can also get connected to a vaccine through Minnesota’s Vaccine Connector.
- Use the Vaccine Locator Map to find vaccine locations near you.

Free Menstural Products in Minnesota
This year, we were able to get these items donated, and thus provide supplies for free to anyone in need. The same organization who has donated our supplies is working with the legislature in hopes of getting free period supplies in all Minnesota schools. They have asked us to identify any students who are passionate about this issue and would like to partner with them and talk to the legislature. If there is a student(s) out there who is interested, please contact Nurses Rachel or Lena in the Health office.
Important Dates
- Retake day is Tuesday, Feb 8. Students will get a pass to have their photo taken along with an order form during advisory on Monday, Feb. 7.
- Virtual Open House for perspective families will be held Thursday, February 24 from 6-7. Humboldt will have a virtual grid with links to information and content from our teachers and staff.
