Weekly Family Newsletter
2021-2022 Week 1
We are so excited to welcome ALL new and returning families on-campus for the 2021-2022 school year! We have been preparing to make it a phenomenal year despite the lingering challenges of COVID. Safety is always our first priority so we will continue to utilize masks, disinfecting protocols, contact tracing and, wherever possible, social distancing. However, the most effective safety practice is one that you can help with: If you know your child is sick or has been exposed to a COVID-positive person, please keep them home and call the school to let us know. These practices helped us maintain safety last year and, with your help, I am confident we can do the same this year.
While simultaneously working to protect safety for everyone, we will also be focused on implementing high expectations for our Eagles' learning. We want our Eagles to Dream Big, Persist & Achieve Excellence and we will do everything within our power to ensure they are empowered to do just that! Of course, student success requires a strong partnership between school and home so we look forward to building a supportive relationship with you and your child. We ask that you stay in contact with your child's teacher throughout the year and share information and feedback that will help us help your child.
Class Dojo and this newsletter will our main modes of communication so make sure to read this newsletter weekly to stay abreast of important dates and information that will help us all be on the same page. Don't hesitate to contact us if we can help you in any way.
We are a team! We can make great things happen! We Are the Eagles, Watch Us Soar!

Masks Required
Effective Tuesday, August 10, to protect staff and students from the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant of the coronavirus, Dallas ISD is temporarily requiring all staff, students and visitors to wear masks when on district property.
The announcement comes as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Dallas County Health officials have raised the COVID-19 alert to level red and reported that hospitalizations are rising at the fastest rate since the pandemic began, among all age groups, including children. Students under 12 are not eligible for a vaccine, however, school attendance is mandatory, and virtual learning is not an option at this time.
In keeping with the top priority of safeguarding the health and well-being of staff and students, the district will continue to provide masks and sanitizer at district facilities and will continue contact tracing.
Governor Abbott’s order does not limit the district’s rights as an employer and educational institution to establish reasonable and necessary safety rules for its staff and students. Dallas ISD remains committed to the safety of our students and staff.
General Attendance Agreement
Every year, Dallas ISD asks parents to complete an official attendance notification and truancy pledge. Previously this form has been provided by the campus but, this year, parents can complete this form online. Please click here to complete the required form. You will need your child's Student Number and Parent Access ID. Call the office if you need help with this information.
Parents/Guardians can monitor student attendance records via Parent Portal on an ongoing basis.
