Week of April 24th
Our theme this year is "Wolfpack Strong." We believe that learning and growing together is the key to our success. Strength lies in the pack, and we will remember this theme throughout the year as we work cooperatively to be successful!

Math
Solve Problems using the order of operations, equations, and expressions.
Student will complete an algebraic equations assessment for a major grade. (4/28)

Describe how industrialization changed the way people lived in the United States.
Homework
Homework is on Canvas. It is due on Friday, April 28th.

5th Grade Pool Party
When: Thursday, May 25th from 5-8 pm
Where: Cinco Ranch Water Park at 24126 Hamptonshire Lane
Food: Pizza, snacks, cookies and drinks
Cost: $25
The pool party form should have come home this week in your child's Tuesday folder. Please let your child's teacher know if you did not receive one. Please turn in the fomrs by April 28th in a sealed envelope with your child's name and homeroom teacher on the outside of the envelope.
In the envelope please include, completed form, complete waiver and payment of $25 cash or check made out to TWE PTA.

CTE (Career and Tech Ed) STEM Maker Camp
This summer, incoming 6th, 7th and 8th grade students are invited to register for one of following two sessions being offered for the 3rd Annual CTE STEM Maker Camp.
June 12, 2017 – June 15, 2017
8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Tays Junior High
July 10, 2017 – July 13, 2017
8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Tays Junior High
The $150 fee per student includes lunch for all four days and a t-shirt. Transportation is not included and must be provided by the parent/guardian. Students will rotate through stations in categories such as:
- Designs
- Structures (Towers)
- Lathe Turning
- Wind Turbines
- Electronics
- Food Chemistry
Registration is available online only via your student’s MyPaymentsPlus account and opens on Monday, April 10th at 7:00AM. Payment via MyPaymentsPlus is due at time of registration and is non-refundable. The first 120 completed registrations per session will be accepted and each student may register for ONLY one session. Both sessions cover same content.

Think Through Math:
This is a free, online math program that allows students to learn and practice to improve mathematics skills. By using Think Through Math on a regular basis, students will become better at problem-solving and computation. These are important skills for success on the STAAR test, 5th grade classroom work, and preparation for 6th grade math. Students access Think Through Math using their MyKatyCloud account.
