Help Decorate the Sunflower School Christmas Tree
Our tree is bare!!
We need your help to decorate our school Christmas tree with our FARM theme. Students may bring any FARM themed ornament to school November 30 and December 1 to help decorate our school tree. The ornaments can be purchased or made, but should be FARM themed. Students will be invited to hang their ornament on the tree with Mrs. Wokutch. Be sure to put your name on your ornament so that we can return it to you.
There are some sample ornaments below. We look forward to seeing all of the fun ornaments the students bring.
What Happens When a Student is Excluded or Quarantined?
When a student has been excluded and/or quarantined they will be sent home with their Chromebook and school work for the remainder of the week when possible. At this time, there is not an option for elementary students to join their class remotely. The exclusion is treated just like an absence with school work being sent home and completed at home as much as possible. Around the third day of exclusion you will be contacted by Mrs. Norman, the intervention coordinator for Sunflower and Cottonwood. She will set up morning check-ins with students that are on exclusion. Students are responsible for returning completed work when they return to school at the end of their exclusion.
What Happens When a Student or Staff Member Tests Positive for COVID?
When a staff or student gets a positive test result, the district will notify via email all other staff and students that may have been in contact with that individual. This is not required by the health department, but is done by the district in an effort to be transparent and as a reminder for everyone to be vigilant and watch for symptoms. Because both parties are wearing mask, this email does not mean that students or staff need to quarantine.
If there was a need for staff or students to quarantine due to exposure at school you would receive an in-person phone call from the district and/or the health department.
These emails are not meant to cause alarm to families, but instead give families notice that they should be extra diligent in watching for symptoms related to COVID.
