**Take Home Folders: Please be sure your child is emptying their take home folder each night. There are some that start to build up paper work if they are not emptied. Thanks!

**Scholastic Book Orders: I sent book orders home on Wednesday. Please do not feel obligated to order. If you do wish to purchase books, you can go to and order under the code for our class: LB8YK. You can also turn in orders/money to me and I will submit the orders.

**Mystery Readers: If you would like to come to our classroom to read a book or an excerpt from a book please let me know. This would have to be done between 8:40-10:50 because this is our Language Arts block. I can give books to those interested or you can bring your own favorite to share. Let me know if you'd like more information!

What Are We Up To In Room 115?

We are continuing class novels this week. All students will have a quiz over their novel on Thursday of this week because we are about halfway through the books. Students will continue to analyze character traits and look at point of view as we continue into our stories.

This week we will do a short writing piece about the fair using persuasive writing skills. We will then begin writing and drafting our personal narratives. These will focus on a small moment in the students' lives and we will begin brainstorming this week.

Spelling/Word Work

I am still working to place students for groups in Words Their Way Spelling groups. My goal is to challenge each student where they are to help them improve their spelling. I also want to be sure students know their High Frequency Words for third grade. These will be added to lists as well.

This week students will be doing High Frequency Words again (list 2). Their test will be on Friday and BINGO sheets will be coming home all week.

For vocabulary we are focusing on possessive nouns, and comparing proper and common nouns.
