Child Labor
In this picture you can see how the children really felt about having to work in the factories. Many of the children would have loved to been able to go to school then go to work in the factories because it came to the point where they would end up the the hospital more then they where at work. This happen because the boss didn't care about the workers or the children.
Triangle Shirtwaist Fire
This was released shortly after the fire happen, it made the public have to face what happen to the women and girls that where trapped in the building. The sad truth is that if this didn't happen the working conditions that they had would have stayed the same. One of the reasons that the workers couldn't escape is because if the greed over money that the factory owners had during this time period and some still do but now there are laws set to keep this from happening.
Settlement Houses
these houses where very important to this time period it gave people a place to live and learn new skill sets. So they could better themselves. These houses also provided a type of care for children that is kind of like our form of day care.
Temperance Movement
These women were against the consumption of alcohol. They felt that alcohol was destroying their families because the man of the house would stay out and not be there for their for the family. This movement only lead to bigger problems like illegal whiskey running. This also created what we know today as the moonshinner
Birth Control Plan
This plan gave women the freedom to decide if they are ready to have children and start a family. Many people were against this they thought that it shouldn't just be just up to the woman to decided it. Many women thought that even if they had more rights it wouldn't matter if they where pregnant all the time
