September 26-30th Principal Update!
Mr. Mike Elston - AUS Secondary School Principal
Tomorrow is the day we have been waiting for!
COVID Protocol Information
Stay Safe. Stay in School!
To ensure the safety of all, here are a few practices at AUS that we would like you to be aware of:
- Temperature and mask checks- From the moment of arrival to AUS, as well as throughout the day, all students will be required to wear a mask and can expect to have their temperature taken repeatedly via thermal scanning devices. Any students with an actual fever will be taken directly to the nurse.
- Prayer rooms- Students wishing to use the prayer rooms will need to bring their own prayer mat. Only students who have brought their own prayer mat will have access to the prayer rooms.
- Lockers- Students will not have access to hallway lockers until further notice.
- Water bottles- Students will need to bring their own water bottle from home which can be refilled throughout the day at the water bottle filling stations located throughout the building. The bubbler feature of water fountains will be turned off. If you want water, be sure to bring a bottle!
- Breakfast and Lunch- Students in middle and high school will not be eating in the cafeteria. Breakfast will be available as a grab and go option that students can eat in their first hour classrooms. Students wishing to order school lunch will complete a form during their first hour class, and it will be delivered to them during their lunchtime in their classroom. Students wishing to bring their own lunch may do so, but they will need to carry it with them throughout the day.
- Get vaccinated - all age appropriate adults and children.
- Stay home if not feeling well. Consult the "Deciding when to stay home" document.
- Wear a school approved mask appropriately.
- Maintain physical distancing of at least 1 meter.
- Wash hands frequently, and use hand sanitizer often.
