Conserve Water
Matthew Stevens 10/18/13
Save water, it will save you later!
You use more than you think
An American taking a five-minute shower uses more water than the average person in a developing country slum uses for an entire day.
We only have so much
While about 70% of earth's surface is covered with water, less than 1% of that water is fresh water that we can actually use.
It builds up over time
A leaky faucet that drips at the rate of one drip per second can waste more than 3,000 gallons per year.
Conserving Water Doesn't Have To Be Difficult
Conserving water in your own home is beneficial to everyone. Not only does it help the environment, but it can save you money on your water bill as well! It is easier than you might think to conserve water. Simple things such as turning the faucet off while you brush your teeth or shortening your time in the shower can save many gallons of water per day. You can also buy products such as low-flow shower heads and toilets to conserve water daily. It isn't difficult or expensive to save water in your day-to-day routine, and the benefits of doing so make it worth the small amount of effort you put forth.
