Off and Running!!
We had a great time at running bootcamp today! I am not sure that ALL the kids would agree that it was 'fun', but they definitely got a workout!
Next week we look forward to getting everyone's 1-mile times as we run the bus lane out front. For the next five sessions we will build on them running a bit longer each time to work up to the 3-miles that they will need to cover at our May 5k.
Important Info
- Water... Thanks for sending those water bottles, they make all the difference!
- Photos & Videos... See below for some bootcamp footage!
- Running Homework... It would be great if the kids did some additional running during the week. It does not have to be anything intense... having them spend about 20 minutes a couple times a week doing intervals would be awesome. They can run for 30 seconds-1 minute and then walk for 1-minute. If they are used to running longer, then they can run for several minutes before stopping for a walk break. This can also help relieve some of GMAS test stress that they may be experiencing the next couple of weeks... a great way to shake off sitting for hours at a time here at school!
- 1-Mile Race on April 15th... We will not be doing this race because only about six of our runners can participate. Have a Happy Easter!
