Florida Assessment of Student Thinking

Beginning in the 2022 - 23 school year, Florida's statewide, standardized assessments in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics will be aligned with the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.). The Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST), is administered as a progress monitoring assessment, which students will particpate in three times per year. Students in grades 6 - 8 will be assessed in both Reading and Math, with 7th graders taking an additional End of Course (EOC) in Civics and 8th grade students adding the Statewide Science Assessment (SSA). Students enrolled in high school credit Math and Science courses will take the Algebra, Geometry, and/or Biology EOC.

Awesome Olsen MS scholars have just wrapped up their first progress monitoring assessment of the year with 96% of students tested in Reading and 95% tested in Math. Progress Monitoring 2 (PM 2) will be scheduled for December 5th. As always our charge is getting good data so we are asking that students continually engage in standards-based remediation and enrichment through participation in our Digital50 programs.
