Yearbook Confusion?
There has been some confusion about purchasing a 20-21 yearbook for students since there is a new process. All yearbook sales are going through Jostens this year, not through the Renaissance Bookkeeper.
If you think you purchased a yearbook before November, you have not. Yearbooks were not available to purchase at the bookkeeper's office or on myschoolfees.com at any time this school year. November 2nd was the first day that yearbooks were available to be purchased at Jostens.com.
There is more information on how to make a yearbook purchase on our website if you click on this link. Jostens sends out reminders as well, so if you are not receiving the reminders, please check your junk email folder.
A list of students who have purchased a yearbook is located by the bookkeeper's window and is updated weekly. Parents should also receive a receipt from Jostens when a yearbook is purchased. Please keep your receipt for your records.
Thank you, as always, for supporting the Yearbook class! We have an incredible staff that has been working so hard and making strides in creating a wonderful 2020-2021 Yearbook. We appreciate all contributions that parents have made by sending in pictures of the students.
There is still time to submit sports pictures, whether you're in district, out of district, in a club sport, part of a dance studio, etc. Though we mainly eat/sleep/breathe academics at Renaissance, we admire and celebrate students' interest in pursuing athletic excellence as well!

In years past, each large high school in West Ada has hosted an Advanced Opportunities night. This night was provided to students and parents to learn about advanced opportunities before their high school registration. Due to COVID restrictions, we will share this information through a virtual career center. This career center includes featured presentations from Career Technical Education, Renaissance High School, and Boise State Sophomore Start Program as well as high school specific information, fast forward information, and dual enroll college information.
Parents and students interested in learning more about high school honors classes, Advanced Placement classes, concurrent credit courses, IB courses or career technical education courses, check out the Advanced Opportunities Virtual Career Center. This information is extremely important in preparation for high school registration occurring in February.

Exposure Quarantine Length of Time Update
This outlines the quarantine scenarios for West Ada School District.
14-Day Option: Preferred method
Community or School Based Exposures
- Quarantine 14 days from the last contact with the positive COVID-19 case.
Household Exposures to a Positive COVID-19 Person
- Two steps to calculate the length of quarantine
- The person who tested positive for COVID-19 in the household may spread the virus for up to ten days from onset of symptoms or if asymptomatic for ten days from COVID-19 test date; therefore, the rest of the household members need to quarantine for those ten days. PLUS;
- The household members could convert to a positive case during the next 14 days; therefore, the household members must quarantine for another 14 days for a possible total of 24 days.
- If a household member develops symptoms, contact the primary care provider OR contact Central District Health.
- If another family member tests positive, to calculate the quarantine times, reset to step one.
10-Day Option Non-Test-Based Scenario: Person was exposed, has no symptoms, and was not tested.
- Isolation can end after day 10 from the last day of close contact with the positive case, provided no symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring.
- Symptom monitoring (via Covid-19 Interactive Tool), masking, hand hygiene, and physical distance must continue through day 14. If at any time an individual develops symptoms during the 14 days after exposure to an individual who tested positive, they should isolate and seek testing.
7-Day Option Test-Based Scenario: Person was exposed, has no symptoms, and has a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test result. If a PCR test is not taken, this is not an acceptable quarantine period.
- The specimen (PCR test) may be collected as early as day five after exposure.
- Quarantine can end only after the negative test result is available, but no earlier than day seven. Student/staff return on day eight.
- Symptom monitoring (via COVID-19 Interactive Tool), masking, hand hygiene, and physical distance must continue through day 14. If at any time an individual develops symptoms during the 14 days after exposure to an individual who tested positive, they should isolate and contact primary care provider.
Students who return before the full 14 day recommended quarantine will need to complete the RHS Covide-19 Interactive Tool for their On-Campus days before coming to school, be symptom free, and social distance to the best of his/her ability through the 14th day.
A QR code will be located by the main office for a student to complete the RHS Covid-19 Interactive Tool, if it was not completed before leaving home.
This form may be reviewed by the school nurse, an administrator, and building security.
ISO will continue to be marked in PowerSchool Attendance every day the student must quarantine, including remote and in-person learning days. It is still the expectation that students engage remotely daily and complete assigned work during quarantine unless they become too ill to complete the work. Students SHOULD communicate with teachers and administration if they are too ill to complete work.
