Grade Level and Department News
Pre-K:
- This week, in our Pre-K classrooms, we talked about Grandparents and also began learning about Thanksgiving. We read books about Grandparents and talked about things that we do with our Grandparents and why they are so special to us. Some of us drew pictures, for our Grandparents. We learned about turkeys and the sounds they make. Finally, we talked about what we are thankful for.
- Next week, we will be learning why we celebrate Thanksgiving and what we do for that day.
- *Please remember to send a water bottle/bottle of water daily. If you send a water bottle, please clean these daily.
- *Check book bags daily and clean out all old papers.
- *If your child has soiled clothes sent home, please take them out of their book bag and return new ones.
- *Finally, PLEASE wash your child’s mask. Send some extras in their book bag so we can change out if theirs gets dirty during the day.
Kindergarten:
- We have two days next week and we will be doing some special Thanksgiving things in our kindergarten classes. We are asking parents to send some small prizes or treats for our treat boxes, thanking you in advance for all you do for our students at Williamston Primary School.
- Please continue to work on letter, letter sounds, sight words and counting to 100.
- We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving break-November 24, 25, 26, 2021
First Grade:
- The sight word competition has been moved to the week of December 13th. Please continue to practice the sight word list with your child.
- Please be sure you are sending a water bottle each day with your child, as well as an extra mask.
- Your child should be reading take-home books each week. Please sign their reading log. We will check the log at the end of each month and give out Book-It certificates for reading.

From the Nurse's Desk
My name is Kim Scott, RN and I am the new School Nurse at WPS. I am excited to be able to provide your children with nursing care while here at school, if needed. Our goal is to be able to keep them healthy, and in school! Remind your child to wash their hands, often, as this is the number one way to prevent the spread of all germs. I am looking forward to meeting you all.
