Classroom Placement Information
Jamison Community,
On the last day of school, students will receive a letter that identifies their room number for the 19-20 school year. Please don't assume that each teacher will be in the same classroom next school year. On Monday, August 5th, you will receive an email blast directing you to the school's website with room number / teacher assignments. This link will take you to your child's teacher's welcome letter.
Much time and attention go into creating well-balanced class groupings that consider the social, academic, and emotional needs of our students, as well as any input which is shared by parents on the Class Placement Input Form. We ask all parents to respect the amount of hard work and thought that the Jamison team has put into this process and not request changes to your child’s placement.
Moving even one child from a class could upset the balance of a classroom and have an impact that extends far beyond your child. Your son may not have gotten his “first” choice of teacher. Your daughter may not be with all her friends from last year. You may be disappointed because you’ve heard through the grapevine that Mr. “A” isn’t as “warm and fuzzy” as Mrs. “B”. All of our teachers are caring, capable, and highly qualified educators, and our job as adults is to support students and to help them develop confidence and a positive outlook as they begin the new school year, encouraging them to look forward to the challenges and excitement that accompany making new friends and getting to know a new teacher. Thank you for your cooperation in not requesting changes and for your understanding, trust, and support.
With that stated, your reaction to the room placement matters. If you get caught up in the placement process and show emotion, your son / daughter will also feel similar. Simply put, they will follow your lead.
As always, thank you for your support.
Respectfully,
Mr. Croyle

Summer Reading for 6th graders attending Tamanend next year
Tamanend is excited to announce that we are doing One School, One Book for the upcoming school year. A committee comprised of teachers and administration has chosen the book Posted by John David Anderson. This book talks about and deals with so many issues that our students face each day. We will be using the different topics in the book during Advisory lessons throughout the year! If you have a 6th grader that will be attending Tamanend next year, they are required to read Posted during the summer.
Library Dedications
Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer by Megan McDonald – Dedicated to
Gabriella Grace Bradley. Between the pages of a book is a lovely place to be.
After all, today’s reader will become tomorrow’s leader! Keep reading and most
importantly know that we love you immensely. Love, Mommy and Daddy. May 2019.
