Points of Pride

Instructional Focus:
I just wanted to take a moment and let you know how grateful I am for each of you. I know that it's cliche, but what we are doing with switching everything to online learning is truly monumental. It's a massive undertaking as you all are dealing with hardships in your own houses as well. To date (knock on wood), the complaints that I have received from parents would fit on two hands. That is absolutely remarkable that we made this shift with over 650 students and only a couple have reached out to me. It's truly a testament to you all and the dedication/communication that you have had with your families.
Next week you will be seeing some information on the procedures that I have put in place for families to start collecting their student's personal belongings. Please know that there are several things going on "behind the scenes" but I am trying to limit the number of emails and when I email. I know during this time how easy it is to fall into the trap of being overwhelmed.
Again, thank you for all you are doing for our community. I am so fortunate to be working alongside each of you.
Miss you all!
Robert
Packing Up Your Room....
It's a LONG one (sorry, but it's usually a staff meeting) and will go over all of the procedures for what should be done that day.
I know that all of you are getting a lot of information from a lot of sources, and I understand it's overwhelming. I am trying to not overwhelm and give information when you need it.
Volunteers Needed...
I will share this information with each of you when I send it to parents.
For now, if you are willing/able to help pass out these belongings to parents (classified or certified can assist), please sign up on the following sheet. It does not start until May 11 and each grade will have a different day that's assigned. This should go home to parents on Monday (from me) with all the information.
I know each of us is in a different place with social distancing, so I am asking for volunteers first. This will be a drive through service and physical contact should be minimal.
Benefits Open Enrollment...
Common Sense Media...
It is time for us to apply to be a Common Sense Media school.
I know that I had previously said that we would all do this at a staff meeting, but that's not looking likely at this time.
Step By Step Directions for Filling Out are Here (shouldn't take more than 5-7 minutes)
Once you are done, please add your name to this document so I can know when to apply for Common Sense School badge.
Ratification of PFP...
Creative Ideas Needed....
I know that social media has a lot of ideas for how to do a graduation, but I feel that high school graduation is a much bigger deal than 6th grade promotion. As you are browsing things on social media or hear of what your colleagues are doing, please let me know. Our kiddos deserve to be celebrated, but I don't know how just yet.
