2019-2020 Yearbooks
We know our scholars are anxious to receive their yearbooks from last year. Unfortunately, they have not yet been delivered to us by LifeTouch given the challenges from the pandemic. We understand that neighboring schools have received their yearbooks, however please realize that CES had well over 800 yearbooks to print which may have included embossing student names on individual books. Rest assured, we met our deadline for printing. As soon as we receive the yearbooks, we will schedule a date for distribution.

Grades are collected for all content areas including art, music and PE. FCPS Virtual Feedback Survey
Virtual learning has been underway for three weeks and FCPS wants to hear from families on how it is going. We also want to hear from you on your preference for an instructional model in the event a hybrid learning model occurs. Student Independence
We recognize that some of our scholars may need guidance and assistance during their LIVE sessions with their teachers. At the same time, we encourage you to foster independence in your child so that they can expand their proficiency with working virtually. Whenever possible, please allow your child to engage in their google meet sessions on their own. We do want to provide, as much as possible, a realistic classroom environment with students and the teacher as the sole participants of google meet sessions. Thank you for your support!
Art, Music, PE Expectations
Our specials teachers greatly enjoy engaging students in the art, music and physical education curriculum. As a reminder, students will be receiving grades for all content areas including art, music and PE. This is different than in the spring during continuity of learning. Each week, your child should participate in at least one LIVE session for each specials class along with one block of time to complete assigned tasks. Specials teachers may provide time at the end of their LIVE session for students to work on assignments or they may use the one independent block provided in their schedule. The assigned activities are not optional as they are required and graded assignments.
Kindergarten Material Pick Up
We have scheduled a material pick up for our kindergarten scholars ONLY on Thursday, September 24 from 3-4pm. If you have a kindergartener, please plan to come to the side entrance of CES to pick up a few materials gathered by our kindergarten team. Remain in your vehicle and a staff member will bring the items to you. If your child attends Goddard, your child's materials will be delivered to Goddard since it is so close to CES.

Our PTA is in the process of planning some wonderful virtual events for our scholars. Please consider joining the PTA to share your support. It's easy to join by visiting the PTA website.
