Japan Strikes Pearl Harbor

Katy Piwonka

On December 7, 1941 Japanese fighter planes attacked the US naval base Pearl Harbor off the coast of Hawaii. Almost 20 American naval vessels, including eight battleships and more than 300 airplanes were destroyed by the Japanese during this attack. More than 2000 soldiers and sailors died and over 1000 were wounded. We believe that Japan attacked because of their belief that without resources they wouldn't be able to solve their economic and demographic problems.
