A Title 1 School
Dear RMS Families
It is hard to believe we are half way through the first nine weeks. October brings the beautiful autumn colors and it is that time of year to enjoy the cool weather. In terms of academics, it signifies the end of the first quarter on the and the beginning of the 2nd quarter. There are many opportunities for students, parents, and teachers to gather around in discussions about academic achievement and progress.
Our focus this month with parents is a connection. Here are a couple of ways you can be connected to what is going on academically at the middle school:
The first way we can come together for student success is through the Parent portal (Powerschool). On the portal, parents and students can see grades, attendance, discipline issues, etc. This is the primary way we connect with parents to offer the most up to date information.
Another way that teachers can communicate about grades is through email and phone calls home. We ask that you ensure we have correct contact information. This makes a good foundation for academic growth.
If you have questions about how to access your student's grades, or if you need resources to talk with your students about their grades, then please call or email the guidance team and hey would be happy to assist.
Also, this month Rosemary will have Parent-Teacher Conferences. Teachers will contact parents/guardians to set up times to discuss current academic status, and results from district assessments. We are excited about partnering with parents for the academic success of students!

GONE WRONG
RMS Behavior Modification Plan and Rewards System
As a PBIS school, we try to teach our students how to show their PRIDE everyday within and out of school by being:
- resPonsible
- Respectful
- posItive
- Dependable
- and show intEgrity
Every week students start with a clean slate and it will be up to the student to maintain a clean record by not breaking any violations. As an token of appreciation for maintaining their PRIDE, students will rewarding by receiving points that they can redeem for prizes. Students will have a change to enjoy rewards on a daily, weekly and monthly basis through an electronic system.
To help parents/guardians understand the School-wide Code of Conduct, you will find an outline of behavior system. As teachers are reaching out to share your child's behavioral issues, don't hesitate to ask questions as we work together to improve behavioral expectations.
