Principal's Message
June is here! It's hard to believe another school year is winding down. One thing that we've really enjoyed restarting this spring is Field Trips! It's so great to see our students once again have the chance for these awesome hands-on learning experiences. Teachers are working hard to plan Field Trips that are engaging and fun for students and I think they are doing a great job with that.
One thing we need in order to make field trips successful is volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please call or stop by the school office for information. In order for parents to volunteer you will need to fill out the information package at the school for a Pledge of Confidentiality and Child Abuse Registry Check. Then we will provide you with information to get a Police Record Check completed. This you will need to do on your own at the RCMP detachment. All checks must be completed and the results returned before you can volunteer at the school or on a field trip.
The second thing we need to have in place is a permission form. Students must have permission either through the Parent Portal (preferred) or a signed paper copy. Please make sure you return those in a timely manner so that teachers can plan appropriately for their Field Trips!

Summer in the City
With Summer in the City making its return in just a few short weeks, this also means the return of Hockey in the City! This 3on3 co-ed ball hockey tournament will take place on Saturday June 18 on the T.G. arena floor from around 9am until early in the afternoon once the tournament is complete. This is open to kids aged 5-14 of all skill levels. All teams are split into divisions based on age (5-6, 7-8 & and so on). Each team is made up of three players plus a goalie with the option of having up to a maximum of 7 players if you would like to have subs. The cost is $10 per player. Each player will receive a t-shirt and there are prizes for the winners. Players are responsible for bringing their own sticks, gloves, and helmets (mandatory).
The tournament is run by the Steinbach Pistons so the registered players will get the chance to interact with current and up and coming Pistons players!
Registration is now open and we need teams to be registered by next Monday! Go to the sports registration page at www.summerinthecity.ca.
