Here's another newsletter that will inform you of more volunteer opportunities as well as updates on meetings. The very first presidents' meeting will be on Thursday, September 19th in Alpha 101 at 8pm. So make sure you are there!

Solar Decathlon & XPO

What: US Department of Energy Solar Decathon and XPO


When: Event are Thursday, October 3rd - Sunday, October 6th and Thursday, October 10th - Sunday, October 13th.


Where: Orange County Great Park in Irvine, CA



Information: Experience the excitement of being an important part of the West Coast debut of the Solar Decathlon and the first ever XPO clean, renewable and efficient energy exposition as a volunteer. Hundreds of volunteers are needed for roles that include: greeters, docents, production assistants and more!

This volunteer experience promises to be unforgettable and rewarding. Volunteers will be able to feel the passion and excitement of the students competing in Solar Decathlon 2013, and will work side-by-side with event organizers and other volunteers from all over the world.

In God's Image: Dinner and Discussion with Micah Bournes

Who: Micah Bournes - Poet from Long Beach, CA


When: Monday, September 23rd from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm.


Where: Grimm Hall, Third Floor Conference Room


Information: Come join Micah Bournes as he discusses diversity on a small campus, such as Concordia. It will be a fun experience for the cultural clubs as well as any other club that might be interested. Pizza will be provided.

Joy Jars

What: Packing Joy Jars that are filled with toys for children in hospitals all over the world.


Why: These jars bring smiles to the faces of hundreds of sick children.

When: 9/26 - 5:00-6:30pm

10/16 - 5:00-6:30 pm

11/6 - 5:00-6:30pm


All dates can accommodate up to 25 volunteers, so if you'd like to combine clubs and choose a date, let Brianna know ASAP.
