Athey Notes
Week 13
Project completed by our Green Thumb Club!
Welcome to Week 13!
Dear Athey Community,
Seventh Grade science classes have been learning about the Science of Gratitude. They've learned that gratitude opens the door to new relationships, improves physical and psychological health, enhances empathy, reduces aggression, improves sleep and self esteem and increases mental strength. With that said, let's take a moment to say Thank You for this past week!
Thank you to all of our students who had so much excitement and enthusiasm for our kickoff of Turkey Trot on Friday! Students have already begun their coin challenge contest to help determine which three teachers/staff will be participating in the Pie Eating Contest on December 9th. On Friday, students participated in escape rooms and a challenge run with their advisory classes, all designed by Mrs. Ruscigno (thank you Lori for your creativity and going above and beyond)! We appreciate all of our Athey families' help with our fundraiser and we look forward to more fun and games!
Thank you to all of our teachers and staff who surpass our expectations daily - they help organize clubs, sports, and games, they stand outside their doors, crosswalks, bus duty, etc to ensure everyone is greeted with a smile, they use lunch time to help students outside of class, and they are just amazing educators!
Thank you to all of our families for the daily support you give our students as well as to our teachers and staff. We are very grateful to partner with you to help your students have a successful and fun school year!
Have a great break!
Sincerely,
Joel Sebastian

West Linn-Wilsonville COVID-19 Reminders
WLWV continues to support the health and safety of our students and staff. All students and staff members are expected to monitor for signs and symptoms of illness. As we move through this pandemic, community support has grown and access to COVID-19 tests are more readily available in the community. A school may send a student home with an at-home test in certain situations, but onsite testing is not available.
If you are seeking more regular testing, Oregon Health Authority does support a staff screening program (linked here). Students and staff are required to isolate at home in the event they test positive for COVID-19 or if they are exhibiting 2 or more COVID-19 symptoms. Please use this screening tool to determine whether or not you or your student should come to school.
