Rodents are animals with bilateral symmetry. They are also omnivores. Different types of rodents like rats and mice like to eat meat and fish, however other types like beavers, squirrels and porcupines like to eat such things as: twigs, grasses, nuts, berries, dairy, bread, and fruit. One of the most unique characteristics of a rodent is a rodent's teeth. Unlike humans, their incisors (front teeth) continue to grow throughout their life which is why many of them gnaw, or continue to nibble on their foods to keep their teeth from growing too long. Rodents are also warm-blooded. Other obvious characteristics include their tails, fur and claws.
