Rise to Power
Nero's mother, Agrippina, married Claudius after her husband, Domitius Ahenobarbus, died. His mom was the great-grandaughter of Augustus. Nero was born into the Throne.
Major Achievements while in Power
Nero gave people more rights. He gave the senate more independence, banned capitol punishment, reduced taxes, and allowed slaves to sue rulers that were unjust. He helped cities that had suffered natural disasters, helped the Jews, and started competitions in poetry, drama, and athletics.
Fall from power or death
The senate sentenced Nero to death after he was lacking support from the army. Galba was elected the new emperor. Nero then committed suicide.
