Dublin Jerome High School
Take Responsibility, Always Growing, Better Together
October 21, 2022
A message from me...
We had a great kickoff to the 2nd Quarter. We had our first celebration by our AYU, with the celebration of Diwali. It was awesome to see our students plan, organize and execute for our school. It was so much fun! We have other events planned throughout the year with our other student groups!
Next week with the end of October comes our Annual Halloween Out on Friday, Oct. 28. Students and staff are encouraged to dress up with their class mates.
A few asks if your child does wear a costume:
- Costume should meet school dress code expectations
- No masks, weapons or other related items that could cause a disruption.
- If you aren't sure, please just ask for clarification.
Thank you for your help and support!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Senior Photo Day #1
All Jerome Seniors are asked to take a photo for the yearbook. This allows us to have consistency in the yearbook.
- This is a headshot and should be treated as a more formal photo.
- This is the photo that will be used for the Senior Class.
- All students (Emerald, CCP, Tolles) should plan on coming to Jerome to have this photo taken.
- We will have another day on Nov. 4. The photo sessions begin at7:45am.
- Please see the image below for more details.
Attendance and Tardy Reminders
As we move into the 2nd quarter here are some important reminders about attendance and tardies:
- Tardies reset each quarter for students. However, they accumulate faster in the 2nd quarter so please remind them to be here at 7:50. Class begins at 7:55. After a third tardy, a detention is issued.
- Please email Attendance if your child will be absent. This will ensure that we have accounted for the absence. This also creates a digital record which we are required to maintain. As state earlier in the year missing just 18 days of school can have a negative impact on student achievement.
If you need assistance, please let us know and we will be happy to help.
Construction Update (10.21.22)
- The installation of interior drywall will begin next week.
- Enclosure of both A/C will occur over the next two weeks with temporary heating will be in place by Nov. 1.
- Planning and timelines for interior renovations within current building has begun!
SEMESTER 1 EXAMS (Dec. 13-16)
Below is the link to our First Semester Exam Schedule for Dec. 13-16. Semester Exam account for 10% of the overall grade for students for the semester. These are important summative assessments that allow students to demonstrate learning.
Students are expected to take their exam during the scheduled times. Students are not permitted to move exams without prior administrative approval. (Please see pg. 17 of Student Handbook for specific details.)
Families that have planned to leave early for a trip must contact the Attendance Office to complete a pre-arranged absence form prior to exam week. Any student missing an exam will complete their exams when they return. All exams that need to be rescheduled will need prior administrative approval.
Please contact the appropriate administrator, school counselor or attendance if you have specific questions. We have asked teachers that receive emails from families forward to attendance. This process ensures that all parties are communicated with to make appropriate changes.
