Students returning to school
Dear Families,
Some students are returning to school on Monday. You have been notified by email if your child is one of those students. Here is a reminder of some important information for returning to school.
· Send your child with at least 2 clean masks.
· Send your child with a water bottle. Students cannot drink directly from the water fountains.
· Visitors will not be allowed on campus except for emergency situations. Parents will not be allowed to have lunch with their child or drop off a lunch.
· Arrival-
- Students will be allowed to enter the building beginning at 7:15 am.
- Students who are walker/bikers will enter the building through the Gym doors and wait in line (while social distancing) for their temperature checks.
- Students who are car-riders will enter the building though the Library doors and wait in line (while social distancing) for their temperature checks.
- Students who eat breakfast at school will go to the cafeteria after their temperature check to eat breakfast.
- All other students will go straight to their classroom.
- Parents are not allowed to enter the building at arrival time.
- Kindergarten and PreK teachers will meet their students on the back patio for arrival for the first few weeks.
· Dismissal-
- We have made one change to dismissal that effects Kindergarten and PreK students. Kindergarten and PreK students will no longer be picked up from the amphitheater. Kindergarten and PreK students can be picked up at the back of the school with the other grade levels.
- We will have a staggered dismissal time, with the oldest students dismissing first.
- Parents or older siblings that are picking students up should have a pre-determined meeting location outside of the school by the back patio. If you are walking up to pick your child up, they will be dismissed first with walker/biker group and go to the back of the school.
- Car-riders are only for those who want to stay in their car and go through the car loop.
- If you want to park and get your child, they will be in the back of the school with the walkers/bikers.

Reminder: No school tomorrow, September 11
School Supply Drop-Off
For Kindergarten students, if you would like to drop off school supplies tomorrow, September 11, you may do so. Make sure their school supplies are in a bag clearly labeled with your child's first and last name. Then you can just drive through the car lane tomorrow and drop the school supplies in the tub at the front of the school with your teacher's name.
For PreK, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students, you just need to send some basic supplies in their backpack, such as a notebook and a filled pencil box. Your child's teacher will let you know when to send the rest of the supplies.
Meals for virtual learners
As we open campuses, in order to feed students who are engaged in on-campus learning, we will continue to offer the virtual learning students curbside meals at Murchison.
Meals will be available to pick up from 7:45-8:15 at Murchison.
- This is intended to begin the first day of in-person classes (September 14, 2020).
- It is still by student status (free, reduced, paid).
- It is important to know that a student/ household can receive a meal at any PfISD campus, not only the one(s) they are enrolled in, for that day.
- All qualifying meals (for that campus) can be picked up at once.
- A student does not need to be present for virtual/ curbside. However, ID or proof of PfISD enrollment is required per student receiving a meal.
Meals will continue to be available at Kelly Lane Middle School through Thursday 9/10/2020.
