GMS Weekly News and Notes
Welcome to 2023!
It was a pleasure to welcome our students back from the winter break this past week. Students came back to our new year's "matholutions" display in the main lobby. Thanks to Ms. Kennedy and her team for encouraging all of our students to continue to build on their math skills as we flip the calendar to a new year.
Overall, it was a good week at the Galvin as we worked our way back into all of our school year routines. We did experience some minor challenges related to students arriving and departing, so I would like to re-share two very important reminders:
It is very important that students are in their classrooms by 7:45 each morning. This allows us to take attendance and make important announcements before the first class of the day begins formally. For parents who drop their students off, please allow enough travel time to ensure that your student arrives at the building by 7:40.
Please remember that students may only take the bus to which they have been assigned. If your student wishes to go to a friend's house after school, separate arrangements must be made. If too many students take a bus to which they have not been assigned, we run the risk of being over capacity.
Thanks, as always, for your support and partnership. I look forward to great things at GMS in 2023.

Winter Concerts Rescheduled
There is an important information regarding the 2023 GMS Winter Concerts. Due to previously unforeseen operational circumstances, it is necessary to reschedule our concerts to two afternoon times. The concerts will be held in the gym at Galvin Middle School from 1:30-2:00 PM on the days listed below. Parents and families of student performers are invited to attend and should sign in at the main office upon arrival. In consideration of family members who cannot attend these in-day performances, the concerts will be live streamed and recorded. The revised Winter Concert schedule is as follows:
Friday, January 20th, 2023 1:30-2:00 PM
6th-8th Grade Orchestras and Chorus
Tuesday, January 31st, 2023 1:30-2:00 PM

Thank you so much for your continued support of our wonderful, young musicians!
