Welcome Back To The 2021-2022 School Year!!!
Hello everyone and WELCOME BACK!
The summer is coming to a close which means the school year is about to open!! I am extremely excited to start my 10th year as your principal! This year we will be welcoming back many of our students who were virtual last year and starting the year with all of our students back in person!
Although we will be following many of the safety protocols as we did last year, I know that the students and teachers will have a wonderful year! Please remember to keep the lines of communication open with your student's teacher as well as with me if you have any questions. We will begin the year assessing the students to help guide instruction and differentiate for our learners.
There is a lot of information in this newsletter so please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions. Wishing everyone an awesome start to the school year!!
Warm Regards,
Dr. Morris

COVID Protocols To Start The School Year
As your principal I take our students safety very seriously. Last year was an unprecedented time for our students and staff and we are not out of the woods just yet. It was a combination of protocols that we put in place at school and the support and understanding from our parent community that kept our school open and students in the classroom. When anyone would ask me how we were successful I always mention how our PH community comes together, trusts our school and is there for support when needed. Thank you in advance for your flexibility, understanding and trust that we will do everything possible to keep our kids in school.

Message From Your PTA President and Back To School Picnic! September 2nd!
The PTA would like to welcome all the Pleasant Hill families back to school! My name is Ashley Gebhardt, and I will be serving as your PTA President this year. All four of my children (two fifth graders, a second grader, and a kindergartener) will be attending Pleasant Hill, so I’m sure I’ll see most of you around the school at some point this year! Julie Boldt will be serving as your President-Elect (with a sixth grader and third grader).
Joining Pleasant Hill’s PTA is a great way to contribute to your children’s educational experience. Your involvement shows our students how much the community is invested in their education. Every year the PTA hosts social events, parenting seminars, community service events, and educational enrichment opportunities. Involvement is also a great way to find out what’s happening at our school and the broader community.
Our first school event will be the Back To School Picnic on Thursday, September 2nd from 6:00p-7:30p. Please mark your calendars. More information will follow in the coming weeks.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Meet the Teacher and on the first day of school.

Breakfast and Lunch For Students
Lunch
If your student would like hot lunch, all you need to do is let your student know before coming to school that they will be getting a hot lunch. The teacher will ask the students in the morning who is receiving a hot lunch that day. If you prefer to send your student with a cold lunch (packed from home) that is always an option for you. It really is up to you and your student regarding lunches at school. Hot lunch menu's can be found on the district website.
Breakfast
This year breakfast is also available to students who are in need. If you would like your student to receive and eat breakfast, you will need to bring them to school at 8:30am. They will enter through door #10 in the back of the school and will head to the café to grab a breakfast and eat in the café. This is completely optional but available.
If you have any questions please call the main office.
