By Alex Conrad
Location
Most geographic studying involves a location. When describing a location there are 2 types, absolute and relative. Absolute location gives a exact answer to find a place. The answer can be lat and long or, a street address. Relative location tells you where something is relative to its surroundings, for example my house is by the capitol or I live in Austin.
Place
Place describes the human and physical characteristics of a location.
Physical characteristics for instance are beaches, lakes, landforms, pretty much every thing that is not induced by humans. On the other hand human characteristics include the stuff that humans created for example lake Travis or Mansfield dam or even the cultures and food, etc.
Region
Region divides the world into reasonable groups for geographic study. Regions have some sort of characteristic that makes it special. Regions are special in their own kind of way because again every place has a numerous amount of cultures and each with their own special way
Movement
Humans move, quite a bit! Also, a lot of things in the world travel for example communication, food, religion, etc. So this theme studies the movement of everything in the world.
Human-Environment interaction
This theme shows how humans adapt and change their environment to fit their wants and needs in order to survive. For example a man-made lake or a food stand.
