Cozine Climber Updates - October 14
A Note From Cozine:
This past week was Conference Week! If you have not yet scheduled a conference with your child's teacher, please reach out so that we can share the great progress that's been made this year! For those parents that have already attended, we thank you for your participation!
Also, thank you for helping your child to participate in our House Spirit Day! It is so fun to see students take pride in the House System at Cozine! We will have House Spirit Days the first Friday of every month, so our next one is Friday, November 4.
Please scroll through this newsletter and check out the point totals for each house. We are awarding points to students for following our Cozine Essentials, the list of expected behaviors here at the school. We are also awarding a point wheel spin to students that won Student of the Month and Character Trait Awards. Ask your child about these things as they
Ms. Jodi Notch and Ms. Lisa Dalton
Thank you to all of the families that raised money for our Fun Run! We raised just over $20,000! We are so excited to be able to use this money to provide amazing opportunities to our students. We use these donations for things such as reward items, maintaining our garden, necessary items for our rescue animals, and our extra-curricular activities.
Dads In Schools
Cozine is proud to be a Dads In Schools participating location. Dads in Schools is a program that invests in students’ social emotional well-being and academic progress through community investment, resulting in increased school safety, student self-confidence, and student belonging. The program unites the community by bringing volunteers to the school to help create a positive and safe environment in which students can thrive both academically and socially. Our goal is prevention through presence.
If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to the office to begin the volunteer process. Volunteers for this program do not need to be male or dads, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested!
All students are invited to participate in the Art Contest to design the covers for the school yearbook. Students must get their design paper and contest flyer from Ms. Adkins in the Art Room. All designs are due to Ms. Adkins by Thursday, November 10, 2022.
The design should include the school name, school year, and our school theme, which is based on our new House System.
School Name: Cozine Elementary
School Year: 2022-2023
School Theme: Four Houses, One Vision
Our houses are as follows:
Humanitas - kindness, green, elephant mascot
Salutem - safety, red, dragon mascot
Veritas - honesty, blue, lion mascot
Eruditio - scholarly, yellow, owl mascot
Yearbooks will be going on sale soon. Flyers will be sent home with information on how to purchase a yearbook.

Cell Phones and Smart Watches
At Cozine, students are required to keep their personal communication devices off and in their backpacks during instructional hours. Students are permitted to use their phones before and after school. This aligns with district policy that helps prevent bullying, cyber bullying, unfiltered internet access, and cheating. If you have questions about this policy, please reach out to the office or school administration.
Our Fall Festival will be held on October 21st from 4:00-6:30 PM. You may pre-purchase wristbands at the front gate for $10 each before and after school beginning Monday, October 10th. The last day to pre-purchase is Thursday, October 20th. The wristbands will be $15 at the festival. The wristbands cover play at almost all of the games. Food and drinks will be sold separately.
