Mohegan Spring 2017 Newsletter

From the desk of Ellen Tuckner, Principal

It's hard to believe that our Spring Break is here! The time has passed so quickly, although the weather certainly isn't very spring-like yet. No matter what the crazy weather may bring, I know that everyone will enjoy some down time with friends and family next week. On behalf of the entire staff, I wish everyone a safe, happy, and restful week. Whatever holidays you celebrate at this time of year, we hope they are wonderful.

I wanted to be sure to thank our amazing PTO for their stupendous effort in creating the 2nd Annual Spring Fling fund raiser. What a great night we all had- and the money that was raised will go to supporting and enhancing the education at Mohegan. Your support is an essential component in providing the children with the best possible learning experience. We are so grateful for all that you do every day as partners.

Our students are well prepared based on the curriculum and instruction they've been working on all year long. As a good practice, please make sure your children get a good night's sleep and come to school having had a healthy breakfast.

Our April PBIS Celebration Honors Sam Jones for his winning Cabbage Plant

Congratulations to Sam Jones for winning the Bonnie Plants Annual Cabbage Plant Contest! Sam grew the largest and healthiest cabbage plant in CT. He was rewarded with a $1,000 check. His 4th grade classmates honored him with a video where he was interviewed by them. It's clear that Sam will carry on the Jones family farming tradition.
