What Are Wildfires?
Wildfires are uncontrolled fires usually in woodlands or forests. They start off small, but if they spread out enough, they could have the power to demolish whole buildings!
What Causes Wildfires?
A wildfire can break out any moment, whether we expect it or not. There are many causes of wildfires, but some of the most common reasons include lightning strikes on trees, volcano eruptions, arson ( Purposely lighting a fire ), and of course human carelessness.
The Impacts Of Wildfires
Wildfires can destroy and kill many natural habitats and the animals in the forests, but they can also do something good. Wildfires can produce rich soil once they die off, providing rich nutrients in the ground for plants. They can also rip over one million acres of land, destroying many people's property and crops.
What Should We Do If A Wildfire Starts Around Us?
If your are out camping and a wildfire starts, evacuate and get as far away from the fire as possible and call the fire department. A tip for starting and putting out a fire in a fire pit is once you want to put it out, dump some sand on it, it will kill the fire immediately.
