From The Desk Of Mrs. Doyle.......
Dear Families,
Happy 100th Day of School! It’s hard to believe that we celebrated the 100th day of school yesterday and we are fast approaching February vacation week.
All-School Gathering
On Wednesday, we held an all-school gathering and we enjoyed a musical presentation from the fifth graders, a vowel song from the kindergartners, and a author study from Mrs. Hanks’ class. Mrs. Rosenbaum, Math Coach, read a story about spreading kindness and in the story, every time someone was kind to 5 people, those 5 people were kind to 5 more people and soon billions of people showed and received kindness. As a reminder, if your child comes home with a rainbow sticker, please ask him/her how he/she earned the sticker (what kind act they performed) and how they felt about it (hopefully it warms their heart to help others). As you’ll see, our Kindness Rainbow continues to gain color. Thank you to Michael Gorgone, Barbara Gogan, and Kristin Moffat for their work in preparing for the school gathering and thank you to our fifth grade leaders who introduced our presenters and provided entertainment between acts.
Parent Conferences
February speeds by, so I want to be sure to remind you that you have the opportunity to meet with your child’s classroom teacher during the early release time period, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m., on March 6 or March 13 for a short parent conference. These are not as long as our November conferences and they are held at the request of the parent or the teacher. If you are interested in a parent conference, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Playground Committee
Our Peter Noyes Playground Committee has been working so hard this year to gather feedback from students and families about our playground design, meet with potential vendors, and make important decisions about our future play space. Thank you to Kristin Nawrocki, Erin Bearfield, Becky Pickard, Meg Shelley, Carolyn Curnow, Maggie Helon, Stephanie Juriansz, Jean Nam, Joe Kupczewski, William Barletta and Kristin Moffat for all their efforts. We are all excited for our new playground coming Fall 2019.
Thank you to everyone who participated in Patriots Day last week. It clearly made an impact -- Yeah Pats!
Best,
Annette Doyle
Look how kind our week has been!
Our Door Decoration Contest is Underway.....
