Liberty Parent Update
Liberty Elementary - Keller ISD
Arrival & Dismissal Info
Great job following our lead on Morning Arrival during a thunderstorm this week! I hope you were able to view the morning email sent with the process during lightning. If not, you each did a good job following our lead!
The first few weeks of school arrival and dismissal have gone fairly smooth. It might not seem like it is when you are waiting in your car, but our arrival times and afternoon dismissal is fairly quick. Even on the hottest day of the year the other day, all kids were picked up within 20 minutes after dismissal.
I have attached the Morning Arrival & Afternoon Dismissal Procedure you received at Meet the Teacher night. If you have't had a chance to look over, please do so over the long weekend! You can also check out our youtube video on arrival/dismissal procedures by clicking this link: LES arrival and dismissal procedures video.
A couple of quick reminders:
- Always cross at the crosswalk directly in front of the school - this is a safety issue especially in the morning with cars facing the sun and helps everyone to see people if you cross at the designated spot. Please do not drop off at the first crosswalk. Instead, drive down the driveway and let students exit in the designated area.
- In the morning, students need to exit closest to the curb. Please do not let students exit in the middle of the lane.
- Cars need to stop before the crosswalk line to let students out of cars. Staff will be there to direct you and help students out of cars.
- In the afternoon, you can use the drive-through lane next to the left lane to exit after you pick up your child for a quicker way to leave.
- Carpool tags are a great way to reduce the lines in the front of the building. If you drive at least 2 LES kids to and from school, you can pick up the carpool tag in the office and use the back drive before and after school. Carpool uses the back door of the school to enter the building.
- If you have not already, teach your kiddos to buckle and unbuckle their seat belts.
- Stay in your car when in the car line. If you need to get out to help your kiddo, park in a designated spot.
When all else fails, please look to the staff members who are outside to direct you. Safety is always are priority when it comes to our kids. Following our plan helps to ensure we keep our kiddos safe.
Lunch menu and snacks
Lunch menus come out each month on the Keller ISD website. Starting in September, we will not be sending home copies each month. Instead, we will provide the link to the lunch menu.

Snacks:
Our students do love to purchase snacks with their lunch each day. If you find your child is purchasing too many each day, you can put a limit on their lunch count. Our cafeteria manager, Dalia Medina, can help you or you can set up these restrictions on the school cafe website.
