Two-Day Training to Feature Effective Strategies for Elementary Literacy Instruction
Training will be offered:
Wednesday, November 7th at the PLAEA Office in Spencer from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
and Tuesday, November 27th at the PLAEA Office in Spencer from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
The PLAEA Office in Spencer is located at 23 E. 7th St.
Lunch will be on your own both days.
The Blueprint features six Effective Literacy Strategy Instruction modules for teachers (overview of effective literacy strategy instruction, grapheme-phoneme correspondences, morphology, vocabulary, text structure, and small group, skills-based instruction).
These strategies can be used with any curriculum that a school may have in place and are applicable to general ed., special ed., and Title I. The strategies are practical and effective.
The emphasis will be on how to implement systematic and explicit instruction.
One renewal credit will be available for participants. Registration for this credit will be available on the first day of class. Day 2: Vocabulary Part II; Text Structure; Small Group Instruction
