Lone Star Press Orders
We have had a great response for our Lone Star Press stories. A big thank you to all of the teachers for encouraging students to turn in stories. Our second grade had the most students complete a packet! The books are almost ready to go to the press to be published. The Author's Celebration will be on May 13th.
Students will be taking home order forms in Tuesday folders on February 9th. The due date for those will be on February 26th. Students must return the forms even if they do not wish to purchase a personal copy of the book. Please return those to the library. PTA will be purchasing one book for each student for our school library. Once the students leave our school, they will get to take that copy with them.
Six Flags Read to Succeed
The Lindsey due date for the reading logs is February 12th. This will give us some time, if some come in late and to get them entered. The official deadline is March 1, 2016 at 5 p.m. Late entries will not be accepted.
Once you have collected and entered your students reading logs online, please give me a copy. I will return them with the student tickets. If you need help registering, entering student reading logs, or want me to enter your student reading logs, please let me know.
Makerspace Club for 1st-3rd Grade Coming to Lindsey
Lindsey 1st-3rd grade students are invited to be a part of our Makerspace Club! The Makerspace movement is all about letting students use problem solving, creativity, math, science, engineering, and other skills to make things. Our Makerspace Club will be literacy based, meaning the students will work around topics and themes from books in our library. Some examples include Crafting books, Lego books, Origami books, and more!
We have a limited number of spots available so a lottery system will be used to randomly select students.
Makerspace Club will meet on Fridays at 3-3:45 from February 19th to April 29th with Mrs. Richardson, Mrs. Payne and Mrs. Janek.
5th Grade Book Club
They will be using Edmodo to collaborate with their peers about the book! Thank you Mr. Pomponio for helping get this started!
